MemFurs - A West Tennessee Furry Community
MemFurs is an LGBT+ furry group based in Memphis, TN. We welcome anyone in and around Tennessee to come join the fun at our monthly meets! We primarily chat and communicate through Telegram. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us there.
About Us
MemFurs was founded in 2021, following COVID-19 lockdowns, to rekindle the social aspects of the fandom. We started off as a small friend group, but it has grown into something much more! We host events such as bowling, roller skating, board game nights, and picnics.Our most iconic meets revolve around the holiday season.
MemFurs attends Zoo Boo each year for stunning photos with wildlife, décor, and Halloween vibes!
Our friends at Bobby Lanier Farm Park host Lights on the Farm every year. They offer sleigh rides, Santa and Grinch photo ops, plenty of hot cocoa, farm animal interactions, and much more!
MemFurs is considered by some a “second family.”
Perhaps they were born and raised in Memphis, yet they had no clue that fellow furries lived so close by. Maybe it’s a first that they could open up as their fursona, and feel understood and accepted by strangers for exactly as they are.Our mission is to nurture safe spaces for all furries in the Mid-South, and we strive to foster warmth and belonging wherever we go, for both community veterans and new members.With frequent outlets to make new friends, explore cozy new places, and share a wealth of creativity and ambition, we hope to keep “furry” a thriving form of self-expression and authenticity for everyone.

It’s April, and that means a new calendar! 🌺🎯 This month, we are hosting a picnic meet at Shelby Farms! We have gone above and beyond planning for this event. While the ticket price is higher than at previous outdoor meets, we hope our community will understand why.🍺 MemFurs is visiting Wiseacre Brewing for an 18+ (SFW) event! They have pizza, chicken wings, and a wide selection of alcoholic beverages. You don’t have to be 21 to attend!🎨 We are introducing weekly Wednesday Art Jams on our Discord from 5 - 9 PM. Enjoy some quality time with fellow artists, share your work, or come join us to simply hang! ✨ MemFurs Picnic Palooza!! ✨
🧺 MemFurs is returning to Shelby Farms for a picnic! Everyone is encouraged to bring entrees, snacks, or drinks for a POTLUCK (not mandatory). Please do not bring plates, utensils, or cups as they will be provided. Let an admin know what you plan on bringing so we can ensure there aren’t any duplicates!🎯 We have loads of outdoor games to choose from. Whether it be giant Jenga, Connect 4, or cornhole, you’re sure to find a game you’ll enjoy!🌈 We’ll end the day with a photoshoot inside a giant rainbow parachute, reliving that childhood nostalgia!🎨 If you’d prefer to hang out and draw, you are more than welcome to do so! Memfurs Rules of Conduct
MemFurs is a 16+ SFW chat! In-person events are SFW 18+. You will be asked to leave if you are underage.NSFW/suggestive and drug-related posts are only allowed in our 18+ group: @MemFurs18PlusIf you have information about a certain group member breaking these rules, please DM an admin.
1. User Profiles
Usernames are required to join the chat. You will be denied entry if you do not have a username attached to your profile.Profile pictures are REQUIRED for all members. Please turn your settings to public. This is not to invade your privacy; it’s just to ensure you’re a human and to differentiate you in the chat. Please make sure they are SFW.Profiles must align with the rules to be accepted into the group. You will be asked to change your profile photo or biography if they are inappropriate for MemFurs.
2. Be Respectful
We have zero tolerance for racism, misogyny, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, religious intolerance, and violence of all kinds. If anything happens, admins are here to resolve disputes. You will be muted or banned from the chat depending on the severity of the statement.
3. Language
While MemFurs does allow cursing, slurs of any kind are prohibited in the chat. Even if you are a part of that minority group, it doesn’t mean it isn’t hurtful or uncomfortable to others.
4. Avoid Drama
Sharing concerns and seeking support differ from venting and drama. You will be warned. If you message a fellow member solely to cause issues or harass someone, that is completely unacceptable.
5. Politics
People are allowed to have their own views, and they should therefore be respected. Avoid discussing or sending media relating to left or right views, especially those that incite violence. Sharing information about equality or human rights is allowed.
6. Advertising
Sharing your work or group is perfectly fine, but please DM @JellyfishDragon for approval before sharing. Please limit it to 1 post a week so the chat doesn’t get cluttered.Please try to complete any commission in a timely manner. If you are found of scamming others, you will be banned instantly.* AI Art, such as stories, art, music, etc., is not permitted to be advertised. We highly discourage anyone from using AI in their work. (memes are perfectly fine to share) *
7. No Spam
Stickers, images, memes, etc., are allowed in the chat, but not excessively.
8. Events
Meetups can be hosted by anyone in the community; however, we cannot ensure your safety unless they are held publicly. No one under the age of 18 is allowed at events. Those who are 16-17 years old can only attend virtual meets. If you are found to be lying about your age, you will be removed on the spot.
9. DMs
When messaging community members, please ask for permission. Please keep conversations PG unless consent is given beforehand.
10. Blocking
If you feel like you need to block a fellow chat member, please tell an admin. Any evidence, even if it is interpersonal drama, is important to make you feel safe.Blocking Admins is STRICTLY prohibited. Admins uphold the community guidelines, so blocking them prevents you from seeing important information. If you are uncomfortable around any admin, please reach out to one of the MemFurs staff.
11. Bannable Offenses
If you are suspected of being supportive of and/or practicing the following, you will INSTANTLY be removed:(is not limited to)
-Racism, Sexism, Ableism, Homophobia, Transphobia
-Bigotry
-Animal Abuse or Zoophilia
- Association with the Alt-Right
-Predatory Behavior
-Sexual Harassment
-Posting Malicious Content
-Bribery
-Stalking
-ScammingPlease check @MemFursBan for banned chat members. If you bring one of these members to a meet, you will be asked to leave and potentially banned from the group.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Unfortunately, the rules will never be complete and have to be updated frequently. Admins have full discretion to remove someone from chat for causing issues, even if there were no rules in place against their actions.Bannable Offenses only include instant bannable offenses. You may be banned for violating other rules if the behavior is consistent or causes harm to the community.

Howdy, I’m Hoku! I’m the founder of MemFurs. I help with planning meets and focus more on the management side of things! I'm a furry artist located in Collierville, TN. Some of my favorite meets we've had would definitely have to be ZooBoo and Lights on the Farm, mainly due to the animals! I'm pretty inconsistent on convention attendance, but my favorite by far would have to be Anthrocon. It's worth the drive!
